China takes note of the ongoing UN development system reform, which indicates the direction for future work in the development field with set priorities that will better support countries in achieving SDGs.
China notes with pleasure that, as a specialized agency of the UN, UNIDO has actively participated in the discussions in this round of reforms, and in its practice, actively integrated its business with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, continued to deepen the building-up of partnerships so as to better help the Member States to achieve SDGs.
Given that SDG 9 is an important part of achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, it is hoped that UNIDO will continue to participate deeply in the reform process, and by integrating core functions, strengthen cooperation with other development agencies, and improve the level of technical cooperation service so as to effectively assist the industrialization process of the Member States. At the same time, it is also hoped that the UNIDO Secretariat will strengthen communication with the Member States, keep them updated on the relevant progress, and listen extensively to their views in terms of cost sharing and country teams composition.
