China is pleased to note that UNIDO continued the good momentum in mobilization of resources in 2017. This is closely attributable to the efforts of UNIDO in recent years in strengthening internal management, participating in international cooperation and building partnerships and fully demonstrates that the technical services provided by UNIDO have won positive recognition.
It is our hope that UNIDO would further cement the cooperation with existing partners and actively forge new partnerships to mobilize more resources to support the inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Member States, particularly in the developing Member States. At the same time, we hope that UNIDO would steadily improve the approaches of project management and raise the efficiency in utilizing project funds to effectively meet the practical needs of the developing countries.
With regards to thematic trust funds, the Partnership Trust Fund (PTF) is crucial for the smooth implementation of the pilots of the Programmes for Country Partnership (PCP). In the past few years, China has provided financial support to the PTF and is pleased to see more countries are joining us in this connection. To further support the implementation of the PCP, China contributed 2.5 million US dollars to the PTF in 2018. China would like to call on all Member States work together to increase the support to the PTF to boost the existing pilot projects and the PCP expansion in the future. We also hope that UNIDO would draw experience from the pilot projects in a comprehensive manner and provide timely information on the progress achieved so that the PCP would benefit more Member States.
