On 30 August, H.E. WANG Qun, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Vienna, presented his credentials to Mr. LI Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
DG LI Yong expressed his warm welcome to Ambassador Wang Qun, wishing him success in the new position. Both exchanged views on how to intensify their collaboration in a bid to assist developing countries to achieve sustainable industrial development. They also exchanged views on intensification of cooperation between China and UNIDO, especially on the fronts of green industry, food and international cooperation. DG LI Yong expressed the readiness of UNIDO to actively participate in China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative, the upcoming Beijing Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as well as China International Import Expo scheduled to be held in November this year in Shanghai.
